Welcome
Thank you for visiting my history webpage.
I am a historian of the United States studying 20th century human sciences, sociological ideas, economic activity, social identity, and political power. I am currently pursuing a PhD at University of Nevada Reno, where I also serve as a researcher and associate director of UNR’s Racist Covenants Research Project.
The Racist Covenant Research Project is an interdisciplinary team that studies housing discrimination in Northern Nevada and surrounding regions, including racially restrictive covenants that were included in hundreds of Nevada-area property deeds and subdivision CC&R documents. RCRP’ has recently launched two websites with some preliminary information: https://www.unr.edu/history/rcrp and https://structuralracism.us.
You can also view RCRP visualization maps here: https://arcg.is/1STLe10.
Or look here for a copy of RCRP’s January 2025’s American Historical Association poster presentation.
Prior to joining UNR, I earned MA degrees in history and sociology from Arizona State University. To reach my old ASU digital portfolio, check out this link: https://asu.digication.com/john-loll-history-ma/home
